Disney with little kids: pack these

May 27, 2026

Disney with little kids is wonderful and exhausting, often within the same hour. A few small things and a couple of habits keep the hard parts manageable.

A soft wrist link. Crowds plus an excited toddler is a genuinely stressful mix, especially during parades and at park-hopping pinch points where everyone bunches up. A soft wrist link keeps a little one close without you white-knuckling their hand every second. It buys you a moment to look at a map or pay for a snack without panic.

A neck fan for the stroller. Heat makes a tired kid melt down faster than anything. A clip-on or neck fan moving air on a cranky toddler in the afternoon can buy you another hour before the wheels come off.

Then the habits that matter more than any gear:

Plan around the nap, not against it. A toddler who skips their nap entirely will fall apart by dinner. Either head back to the resort for a real midday break, or build in stroller-nap time during the hottest part of the afternoon.

Use Rider Switch. This is the one every parent should know: it lets both adults ride a big attraction without waiting in line twice. One parent waits with the child, then swaps in without re-queuing. Ask a cast member at the ride entrance to set it up.

Pack more snacks than you think. A hungry toddler is an unhappy toddler, and in-park snacks are pricey and not always quick. A stash of familiar favorites prevents a lot of tears.

Keep them cool, keep them fed, protect the nap, and use Rider Switch. Do that and a trip with little ones is genuinely magical instead of a survival exercise.
